On Watching Romcoms With My Roommates

Thanks for the guest post by Donn Schroeder

I’ve always enjoyed going to the movies with two of my girlfriends. The three of us share a house, and we’ve been friends since college. Before we leave for the movies, I always set our adt security around houston and lock our doors.

We like to watch comedies, especially romcoms. It’s not that we actually enjoy romantic comedies. In fact, it’s the opposite. We love to snark on the silly plots and the way that male and female relationships are portrayed on the screen. We’ve seen so many bad movies together, including The Ugly Truth and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. In the dark theater, we stifle our laughter and roll our eyes at one another. On the drive home, we talk about what could have been done to save the film, or in the worst cases, we talk about why the film was completely unredeemable.

Despite our poor choices, we’ve also seen some very good movies. In college, we watched Titanic for the first time. I loved it, and I was so affected by it that I cried for an hour. From the time that Jack dies up until we arrived home, I bawled like a baby. They still make fun of me every time that movie comes on TV.
